Overview
The RA will develop a suite of resources and guides that underpin pilot activities in the Virtual Exchange/Collaborative Online International Learning (VE/COIL) project and will be made available through the CLT Hub. These resources will provide specific guidance on principles of VE/COIL, learning technologies for VE/COIL, and assessment design, including planning and approval procedures. The project is part of the University of Bath’s participation in a Fulbright Global Challenges Teaching Award, with objectives to embed and deploy VE/COIL approaches across the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and the wider university.
Responsibilities
- Develop written guides and resources for UoB colleagues, translating learning from the Fulbright award into practice-oriented materials.
- Help plan and deliver introductory talks and training workshops scheduled for February/March 2026 (and earlier workshop series February-May 2025).
- Collaborate with the experienced academic and professional services colleagues in the core team from the Faculty and Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT).
- Prepare and support the implementation of a second wave of VE/COIL activities for semesters one 2026-27 and/or one 2027-28.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering undergraduate or postgraduate teaching at the University of Bath.
- Experience organising and facilitating staff workshops and events.
- Interest and experience in utilising digital technologies to support learning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Curiosity to learn and engage with new pedagogical approaches.
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the university.
- Current Postgraduate Research student at The University of Bath.
Desirable
- Experience of online teaching delivery.
- Understanding of digital accessibility and inclusive learning design.
- Familiarity with principles of assessment and curricular design (e.g., working toward Associate Fellow or Fellow of the HEA).
