This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of sustainability initiatives across the University campus. The role combines environmental engagement, project coordination, and operational support, helping to create a positive culture of sustainability among students and staff.

You will lead and support campaigns such as Leave No Trace and Green Impact, coordinate events and volunteer activities, and help deliver initiatives focused on waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and sustainable behaviour change. Alongside engagement work, you will assist with the coordination of environmental service contracts including pest control, waste and recycling, and feminine hygiene services.

The role is varied and hands-on, requiring strong organisation, communication, and relationship-building skills. You will work closely with students, staff, contractors, and community partners to help drive sustainability projects and support the University’s environmental goals.

About you

You will be passionate about sustainability and motivated to encourage positive environmental change within a diverse university community. You will demonstrate:

  • Confidence working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • A proactive and flexible approach to problem solving
  • Experience in sustainability engagement, campaigns, events, or community initiatives

You will also have an understanding of environmental sustainability issues such as waste reduction, recycling, energy saving, and behaviour change, along with the ability to inspire and motivate others to get involved.

This role is offered on a part-time, permanent basis, 30 hours per week.
