We wish to appoint someone who is looking for a varied, interactive role to apply their finance knowledge and experience. This role is part of the Commercial Finance Team which provides financial support for the core functions of Payment processing, Income collection, Payroll and internal recharging and is responsible for financial budget reporting for the Campus Services and Infrastructure stakeholder group.
About the role
This client-facing position is a key point of contact for the Department of Campus Infrastructure to support the smooth running of the financial side of the business. It is a diverse role involving daily interaction with the University finance and CAFM systems, at a time where the university is migrating both current systems to cloud-based, integrated services. You will be a key contact point for finance related queries, responsible for month end and ad-hoc reporting and involved in projects seeking efficiency savings targets.
About you
You will be AAT L4 qualified (or equivalent) and will be able to demonstrate the following key knowledge and skills:
- Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Able to produce period end accounts from Trial Balance to I&E/Balance Sheet stage for management review
- An eye for detail, inquisitive mind to investigate variances, to ask questions and produce meaningful reconciliation work
- Competent Excel skills for reporting, data analysis and finance modelling
- Experience of operating in a 'Purchase to Pay' environment
- Staff line management experience
- Experience of working with Agresso, Unit 4 and Planon software systems would be desirable
