We are recruiting across the following four strategic areas:

  • Clean Energy Industries: Hydrogen and biogas fuels, energy networks, environmental economics, green finance, ethical supply chains, and behavioural change.
  • Digital and Technologies: AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, spatial intelligence, robotics, human-computer interaction, and digital transformation.
  • Life Sciences: Drug discovery, diagnostics, pain research, preventative healthcare, wearable biosensors, and public health surveillance.
  • Professional and Business Services: Retail innovation, fintech, smart logistics, digital policy, and inclusive growth.

This is a research-intensive role, with the expectation of significant contributions to research excellence and innovation as well as also contributing to teaching within your associated Department.   • A clear and feasible research vision aligned to at least one of the priority areas of clean energy, digital and technologies, life sciences, or professional and business services.

  • Potential to build links with external organisations, such as the commercial and public sector to drive the translation of research into innovation and to deliver real-world impact.

Applications will remain open until all positions are filled. Recruitment will be conducted in rounds, with Round 1 closing for review in 7th December 2025, shortlisting in January 2026 , and remote interviews scheduled for January / February 2026 . Please note that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and depending on the number and strength of applications received, some candidates may be invited to interview ahead of this timeline.
