Special Conditions

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with a diverse international community, providing understanding, support and outstanding customer service.
  • Computer skills and ability to use various software packages, including custom university software and general software. Training provided when needed.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence for motor cars.
  • First Aid At Work (FAAW) trained.
  • Hold a Security Industry Authority licence.
  • This is an exciting position at an international University based in the City of Bath for applicants looking to help and support students and staff within a Higher Education setting.

The role is strongly customer focused and requires the ability to perform well within a team and to demonstrate initiative whilst working alone when dealing with emergencies, medical first aid response, alarm activations and many other reported incidents. Together with a team of security staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout both campus and City campus, including student accommodation and other University Buildings.

The basic working week is 38.5 hours, including 36.5 hours + 2 hours contracted overtime; these hours are worked on a rotating shift basis covering 24/7 365 days of the year and attract a 15% shift allowance. At times during staff shortages you will be required to work with other Campus teams and cover different shifts. The appointment will be made subject to a Basic Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check being obtained.
