PROGRAM DIRECTOR I
University of Alabama at Birmingham
The UAB Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a Program Director I to support the Medical Director of HIV Prevention by overseeing the programmatic, financial, and administrative operations for the HIV prevention program of the Division of Infectious Diseases. This position will focus on the 1917 PrEP Clinic (aka the 1917 Personal Health Clinic) and support other HIV prevention efforts for the Division. This position will interface with multiple groups across the UAB enterprise, including pharmacy, accounting, billing, and other key stakeholder groups.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain policies to ensure compliance with 340B STD program.
- Oversee program to ensure strict adherence to compliance policies.
- Research Writing and Editing: Directs and implements the development and revision of research papers, provides oversight and guidance on manuscripts prepared by lab staff, identifies and submits to relevant publishers, and ensures all written content meets publication standards.
- Interface with division leadership and CFAR to support program budget and financial oversight, including purchasing as allowable and necessary.
- Oversee long-acting injectable PrEP program, including product procurement, patient scheduling, and interfacing with clinic staff to ensure appropriate administration and documentation.
- Ensure PrEP clinic schedule of providers and patients.
- Interface with 340B contract pharmacies to review pharmacy agreements and reports; ensure revenue and costs are tracked and accounted.
- Work with CFAR finance to oversee this.
- Oversee and ensure ADPH STI testing program, including STI testing collection, transport, and result reporting.
- Interface and collaborate with 1917 Clinic leadership to ensure necessary clinical support staff.
- Maintain IRB and research regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and ensure data collection and reporting for PrEP program.
- Interface and assist with 1917 PEaCE Team, including HIV testing program.
- Directs the operations of a small programmatic function.
- Independently designs, develops and administers program content.
- Establishes program objectives.
- Manages program fiscal operations.
- Supervises staff engaged in carrying out program activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range : $47,665 – $77,455
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
