Overview

The post is based in the Institute of Education in Healthcare and Medical Sciences (IEHMS) in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN). The Institute supports undergraduate medical and postgraduate programmes, educational governance, and innovation in education and pedagogic research. The Clinical Skills Centre (CSC) equips staff and students with access to clinical simulation modalities and a safe environment to practice skills, including at satellite locations such as the simulation ward area in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The CSC houses the patient partner programme team who train and support around 200 volunteers for clinical skills teaching. The Centre hosts a variety of postgraduate educational and national events. A small dedicated team within the CSC (technicians and administrative staff) will support the post holder.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support within the Clinical Skills Centre and collaborate with technicians and administrative staff to assist the post holder in delivering educational activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, including the University teaching team, administrative staff in the Institute, the patient partner team, and colleagues in NHS Grampian.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, organisational, and interpersonal skills in daily duties.

This is a full-time job (36.5 hours per week) with hours spread across Monday–Friday.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 scale, £26,942 – £30,805 per annum, negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
