The University of Aberdeen is looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and dependable cleaners to join our friendly team of dedicated cleaning staff who take great pride in providing high standards of service across the University estate. Consisting of approximately 85 staff, the Cleaning Services team works within the Facilities Services section of the Directorate of Estates and Facilities, and provides a comprehensive cleaning service across the University campuses. The team ensures that a clean, hygienic and safe environment is maintained for students, staff and visitors to the institution. Activities extend right across the academic and administrative buildings on the Estate, and also incorporate services to the University libraries and sports facilities, and provide support for institutional events and other on campus activities.
Working Hours and Post Details: 20 hours per week, mainly based around Monday - Friday 0600 - 1000 hours but occasional weekend working will be required to support events and student activity.
Salary: Salary will be paid on the Grade 1 scale, £12.93 per hour for the number of hours worked.
Qualifications: Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and independently, and being reliable are all essential requirements. The successful candidates will ideally have experience in the cleaning industry and be conversant with relevant Health and Safety procedures and protocols, including COSHH and manual handling.
