Business Development Executive - Digital & Creative Industries

The University of Aberdeen is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Executive to join the team in Research & Innovation to lead on industry engagement and Business development for the Creative and Digital Technology industries to meet the University’s ambitious targets for enterprise and innovation. The Business Development Executive will lead the development of partnerships with industry and other key stakeholders, working closely with academic schools to identify, initiate and drive forward a range of commercial opportunities within the Creative and Digital Technology sectors. The post holder will be responsible for a range of ambitious targets within the University’s Strategic Plan 2040, including contract research, consultancy and developing strategic industry partnerships. You will have a good first degree in a relevant subject, with commercial and technical expertise (preferably in an R&D setting), ideally with a postgraduate qualification or Chartered membership of a relevant professional body. You will have a track record of meeting business development or sales targets, demonstrating the ability to manage resources, workloads and changing priorities. Well organised, astute and highly motivated, we are looking for an individual who would thrive and develop as part of the newly created externally facing Enterprise & Innovation Team within the Directorate of Research & Innovation. Ideally, the candidate will have experience of project management, and industry sector knowledge and networks. You will be able to build and nurture effective relationships with academic researchers, investors, industry and other stakeholders, enhancing your own professional network. Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £37,999 – £45,163 with placement according to qualifications and experience.
