This role offers an exciting opportunity for highly motivated pharmacists to join our multidisciplinary team across the medical departments at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The position covers a variety of specialty rotations, including:
- Acute Admissions Units
- Short Stay Unit
- Friarage Hospital
- Endocrinology
- Respiratory Medicine
- Neurology Medicine
Responsibilities
- Act as a positive role model for medicines management and optimization.
- Utilise transcribing or prescribing skills effectively to enhance patient care and safety.
- Monitor performance and productivity, developing and piloting new ways of working to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Participate in the preparation of policies and procedures.
- Engage in risk reporting and management.
- Provide relevant and up‑to‑date education and training to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
Working Hours & Shifts
Full‑time hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday (compressed hours available). Extended hours, weekend and on‑call rotas: 1 day weekend per 5 weeks (reimbursed with a weekday off), 1 late‑night shift every 2 weeks, on‑call duties approximately 1 in 40.
Location & Facilities
South Tees NHS Foundation Trust – Tees Valley. Hospital services are provided from two main sites:
- James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
- Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.
Training & Development
Leadership and improvement training programme for all new staff. Quality Improvement Programme delivered by the Trust. Future in‑house courses and bitesize programmes, including leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7.
