An exciting 8‑month fixed‑term/secondment opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation Team for a Resuscitation Officer.
Responsibilities
- As Resuscitation Officer (RO) you will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of basic and advanced life support training throughout the Trust.
- You will respond to adult cardiac arrest calls, paediatric emergency calls, act as an expert member of the team and facilitate experiential learning and team debrief.
- Occasionally you will lead the cardiac arrest team.
- You will develop and revise hospital resuscitation guidelines, procedures and training in line with new research and audit.
- You will devise appropriate teaching methods for policies, procedures, national guidelines and other key information such as DNACPR.
- You will assume the role of cardiac arrest team leader when necessary, making decisions in complex clinical situations.
- You will promote the importance of resuscitation through negotiation and presentation.
- You will plan, modify and implement multidisciplinary teaching programmes for all clinical staff.
- You will support staff in delivering ethical, patient‑centred resuscitation in accordance with the Trust’s Cardiac Arrest Policy.
- You will institute debriefing and support for all staff following emergency situations, promoting reflective practice and providing constructive feedback, including dealing with staff and relatives who have witnessed distressing incidents.
