Dietitian

We are looking for enthusiastic dietitians to join our friendly and dynamic team at The South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers a 37.5‑hour week on either a permanent rotational post or a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity‑leave cover post.

Rotational posts

Posts are based across our three hospital bases, covering the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, and community services in Redcar & Cleveland and Hambleton & Richmond.

Specialties

  • Acute rotations expose you to stroke, surgery, neurology, cardiology, general & respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, older people’s medicine and spinal injuries.
  • Community rotations include nutritional support, diabetes, enteral feeding, gastroenterology and paediatrics in community clinics, community wards and care homes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver group education sessions to patients and carers.
  • Provide clinical care and nutritional support across acute and community settings.
  • Educate other health‑care professionals, care‑home staff and support workers.
  • Participate in a one‑year preceptorship programme and, after six months, contribute to the training of student dietitians.
  • Support service development and new ways of working, with opportunities for CPD.
  • Travel across South Tees, Hambleton and Richmondshire as required; successful candidates must have access to a vehicle.
