An exciting opportunity has arisen for a developing pharmacy technician to join a dynamic clinical pharmacy team to deliver operational and clinical pharmacy services to the patients and staff at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a progression post, initially working as a clinical pharmacy technician (band 4), whilst completing the relevant training to become a certified medicines management technician. The post holder will have a maximum of 36 months from the date of employment to complete this training, and quality support and guidance will be provided from the organisation to complete this. Upon successful completion of the training, the post holder will be automatically promoted to a MMT role (band 5). If the successful candidate already possesses the desired qualifications, then they will start at a band 5 level.
You will be a key member of the ward pharmacy teams across an array of clinical specialities. This is an exceptional opportunity to strengthen your clinical knowledge and become an expert within these specialties. The suitable candidate will need to have a breadth of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting, with the proven ability to perform as a team player. Applicants must be a Pharmacy Technician, registered with GPhC. We will accept applications from pre-registration technicians qualifying in 2026.
The Successful Candidates Will Work Full Time Hours 8.30am-5pm Monday – Friday. They Will Also Be Included In Dispensary And Extended/out-of-hours Rotas, Which Are Currently Weekend working once every 5 weeks (9am-1.30pm Saturday and Sunday 9am-12pm reimbursed with a full weekday off the following week) Contribution to bank holiday working rota.
Leadership and Improvement Training: South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:
- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
- Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
- Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7.
