This post offers an exciting opportunity to gain training and experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and medical education. The aim of this post is to further develop and improve teaching of undergraduate medical students within South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Prior experience of working and teaching within the NHS is essential for this post.
Responsibilities
- Teach and support undergraduate medical students within the obstetrics and gynaecology departments at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
- Work in balance with clinical duties: one day per week in clinical work and four days per week in teaching/simulation, with flexibility to balance clinical and teaching commitments.
- Contribute to clinical care in the obstetrics and gynaecology departments as required.
- Mentor and supervise medical students regularly and contribute to end-of-stage examinations and in-course assessments.
- Participate in clinical activities within the obstetrics and gynaecology departments one day a week; ensure at least one day per week in the clinical area with no on-call commitments.
- Engage in and contribute to the development of undergraduate teaching across all levels at the Trust.
- Opportunity to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
Qualifications and requirements
- Registered medical practitioner.
- Previous experience of working and teaching within the NHS is essential for this post.
- Those wishing to apply who are at a higher grade than ST1/2 may apply; salary can be matched with evidence of current pay slip one month prior to commencement.
Contract details
The post is for 12 months and salary is under the Locally Employed Doctors contract (2016).
