This is an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist within Perioperative Medicine, Theatres & Ophthalmology to join the Pharmacy team at South Tees Hospitals. The post-holder will be required to innovatively develop the role and work on their own initiative. They will work closely with the Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician for perioperative medicine, as well as within the Ophthalmology and Theatres multidisciplinary teams and wider pharmacy team, ensuring that services are provided in accordance with relevant professional, ethical, legal and locally agreed policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

The post-holder will be a key member of the clinical pharmacy team, making major contributions to the development and delivery of pharmacy medicines management strategies and the implementation of development plans for pharmacy services. The post holder will deliver safe, effective, and optimum clinical pharmacy services to patients at South Tees Hospitals in addition to providing expert advice, guidance and information on treatment choices, medicines use, clinical pharmacy and financial issues to senior staff and managers within the services.

Responsibilities
  • Be a key member of the clinical pharmacy team, making major contributions to the development and delivery of pharmacy medicines management strategies and the implementation of development plans for pharmacy services.
  • Deliver safe, effective, and optimum clinical pharmacy services to patients at South Tees Hospitals, and provide expert advice, guidance and information on treatment choices, medicines use, clinical pharmacy and financial issues to senior staff and managers within the services.
Leadership and Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

  • Explore leadership within the NHS
  • Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
  • Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
  • Champion and lead quality improvement within your role with a practitioner level in quality improvement
  • Equip you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities; we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bite-sized programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7.
