Job overview

Come and join us! This is a great opportunity to become part of our dynamic, friendly, forward-thinking, and inclusive Physiotherapy Team at UHSussex (Haywards Heath and Brighton and Hove). We are recruiting enthusiastic and highly-motivated Band 5 physiotherapists to work across our exciting range of acute rotations, including within our brand new, purpose-built site at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Please note that we do not offer a relocation package at present.

Main duties of the job

  • Rotations offered:
  • Musculo-skeletal Outpatients
  • ITU/ Surgical wards and Amputees
  • Medical Wards, including Renal
  • Elderly Rehabilitation
  • Orthopaedics, trauma and elective
  • Major trauma

The post would include participation in the weekend and on-call rota following completion of appropriate rotations and training; some of the rotations involve rostered 7-day working.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Communication

  • To adapt communication skills to encourage patients to undertake their treatment programme, including patients with communication difficulties e.g. Dementia, learning difficulties, visual and hearing impairments and non-English speaking patients.
  • To maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, in line with legal and departmental requirements.

  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or MSc Physiotherapy (pre-Registration) or overseas equivalent
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Able to plan and prioritise own workload.
