Equipment Library Co-ordinator

The Equipment Library provides an equipment loan service to the Trust, ensuring that equipment is clean and safe to use.

1. Cleaning & checking of equipment
2. Loaning & retrieving equipment around the hospital site
3. Data entry to track loaned equipment (training will be provided)

The Equipment Library is staffed from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include:

• Communicating relevant information within the team to ensure efficient service
• Liaising with Equipment Library personnel, users, and healthcare staff in a polite and helpful manner
• Participating in team meetings
• Working as part of a team and liaising professionally with other healthcare staff (e.g., decontamination, infection control, tissue viability, portering services)
• Answering telephone queries and dealing with ward requests regarding loan equipment
• Visiting ward areas to loan and retrieve equipment
• Delivering and collecting medical devices from the Princess Royal Site (a clean driving license is required)
• Building effective relationships with Ward/Department Managers to provide efficient on-site loan services
• Notifying users of equipment shortages
• Contributing to monthly team meetings
• Providing advice and technical support on loan equipment to wards/clinical areas
