This is a Fixed Term post for 4 months, in a busy comprehensive ENT department. The successful applicants will be part of a team of 12 consultants, 4 SPRs, 4 trust grade and 2 Trainees. We are looking for competent ENT junior doctors to work on call, covering the wards, in Emergency OPD clinics and to participate in the department research and audit work. This is an excellent opportunity to develop the necessary skills and achieve the competencies required for higher training.
The ST1/2 Equivalent will have responsibilities towards maintaining good documentation, prompt discharge communications and planning work.
The Clinical Duties Of The Post Include The Following
- Emergency Clinics
- Ward Duties
- On-Call
- Engagement with Research
- Engagement with Audit
- Supernumerary educational days to attend clinics and theatres
On Call Commitment: 7 week rolling rota.
The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with their colleagues, both senior and junior. While it has been agreed between the professions that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptions and you should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
