If so, you could be the next Chief Medical Officer at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.

It’s an exciting time to join our team, as we re-imagine services with a focus on the left shifts of treatment to prevention, hospital to community and analogue to digital, with a focus on sustainability.

Main duties of the job

Direction of the medical staff at University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB) to ensure the safe delivery of excellent patient care. The Chief Medical Officer will play an active role in the determination and implementation of clinical, corporate and improvement strategies and plans to achieve clinical transformation and financial sustainability across the Bay and the Lancashire and South Cumbria integrated care system.

The Chief Medical Officer is a full voting member of the Board of Directors and is expected to play a significant role in the corporate affairs of the organisation as an Executive Director and member of the Unitary Board.

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises.
