The post holder will exercise independence within nurse-led clinics to provide specialist care and management in Benign Urology, demonstrating a high level of expertise. Competence in BOTOX treatment, flexible cystoscopy, and Urodynamics is required or will be developed.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering nurse-led services for patients with neurogenic bladders
- Conducting annual checks as per the GIRTH report
- Managing nurse-led UTI clinics following national guidance
The post holder will support the urology team, act as a role model and resource, and promote high standards of clinical skill and patient outcomes. They will serve as a clinical expert and professional resource within their specialist service, managing a caseload and participating in specialist clinics. Ensuring high-quality, effective care by prioritising research and collaborating with colleagues is essential.
The role involves clinical leadership to enhance professional standards across the specialty. Key duties include:
- Running independent flexible cystoscopy lists
- Instilling BOTOX
- Taking over the clinically led UTI and neurogenic bladder clinics
- Acting as nurse in charge of the unit, deputising for the ward leader as needed
Participation in urodynamic studies and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings is also required.
