We are looking for a dynamic and flexible individual with great interpersonal skills to join our team.
Our reception team consists of 14 Receptionists covering the receptions at the LRI & LGH Maternity Department, operating a 24/7 service on both sites.
Below are examples of shift patterns over a 4-week period:
- Week 1: Wed 2pm-8pm, Sat 2pm-8pm
- Week 2: Wed 2pm-8pm, Sat 8pm-8am, Sun 8pm-8am
- Week 3: Wed 8pm-8am, Thu 8pm-8am, Sat 2pm-8pm, Sun 2pm-8pm
- Week 4: Mon 8pm-8am, Sun 8pm-8am
Shift patterns will be negotiated to ensure continuous service coverage.
As a Maternity Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will be a team player, quick learner, reliable, flexible, and possess excellent customer service and telephone manner skills. You should work well under pressure and maintain a smart appearance.
Previous clerical/reception experience is required; NHS/GP experience is desirable. You must have GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths, and basic keyboard skills.
Responsibilities include covering for annual leave and sickness, working independently once trained, and using your initiative.
Our facilities include:
- Maternity Units at LRI & LGH, including Ante-Natal clinics, Scan and Specialist Care, and Delivery Suites.
- Maternity Assessment Units for pregnancy reviews.
- Neo-Natal Unit at LRI and Special Care Baby Unit at LGH for neonatal intensive care.
Duties include:
- Greeting and directing patients/visitors
- Admitting patients into the hospital system
- Answering phone queries
- Preparing patient hospital folders
- Tracking hospital notes
- Entering care plans into the database
- Logging department repairs with Estates
- Performing varied administrative duties
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
