We are a forward-thinking team with a philosophy of providing the best possible care to women, babies, and their families. This is achieved by providing effective training, education and working collaboratively as a midwifery and medical team.
You will be supported to deliver excellent safe and high-quality maternity care through the leadership of antenatal services and the complex care (specialist) midwifery teams. You will expand a portfolio of experience to broaden the professional experience to enhance your future carer.
Improving the quality and safety of services, reducing inequalities of health, and working with system partners to provide the best start in life for people in our community is central to the role. Along with ensuring that women and birthing people are supported to make informed decisions about their care, and to enable them to dynamically update their personalised care plan and share with clinicians
The post holder will be a highly visible senior midwife and as such expected to provide specialist knowledge, advice and clinical expertise.

Leading by example the postholder will drive up standards of clinical care and have the authority to get the essential components of care right for women, birthing people and their families

Working collaboratively with other Matrons the postholder will contribute to the development and delivery of both Trust and Divisional objectives and assisting in the delivery of the governance agenda

To be responsible for setting and monitoring clinical standards and to play a proactive role in quality improvement, whilst demonstrating an awareness of the impact of each clinical area’s activity, interacting with other areas to provide a seamless service

Taking responsibility for operational management of the antenatal service and the specialist midwives, and to provide oversight of a clinical area, as delegated by the Head of Midwifery. The postholder will line manage antenatal services in addition to members of the specialist Midwifery team working across all sites
