The role of the Estates Maintenance Assistant (Nights) is to be part of a team providing comprehensive Healthcare building maintenance service to all wards and departments within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
This role is working Night shifts and acting as a first responder for out of hour’s maintenance tasks and also carrying out pre-planned maintenance activities on both systems, engineering plant and maintenance areas.
To carry out planned and reactive maintenance task to a high standard that is commensurate with the skills and experience for the role.
The post holder will be reporting, on a day to day basis, to the Estates Supervisor and Estates maintenance managers. However, will carry out routine duties referring to SOP’s as and when required.
Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a fully qualified craftsman, related to his training and/or experience
- To assist other trades as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- To use all relevant tools and equipment. Understanding how to manipulate fine tools and equipment.
- To maintain the workshops, stores, switch-rooms, boiler-house and plant-rooms and the surrounding areas clean and tidy as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Compliance with all statutory regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To be able to work overtime at short notice if available to do so, depending on the needs of the Trust.
- To ensure that all policies and procedures laid down by the Trust are strictly complied with.
