This post is sponsored by Macmillan to provide clinical leadership and oversee the delivery of Physiotherapy to patients within Oncology and Haematology wards at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. You will demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills while working within a multidisciplinary team, carrying out assessments and interventions to support patients with a cancer diagnosis and undergoing cancer treatment.
An extensive range of clinical skills and knowledge of various conditions such as respiratory and long-term conditions are essential for this role. Provide clinical and professional leadership to Physiotherapy colleagues in the team. Be responsible for clinical standards, evidence-based practice, and quality metrics within the team. Work as an autonomous practitioner to provide specialist therapy assessments, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment programmes based on patient needs, using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
Manage a clinical caseload, including complex cases. Actively develop Physiotherapy within the specialty. Oversee the day-to-day management of Physiotherapy delivery by the team in an efficient and effective manner within a fast-paced, pressurised environment. Collaborate with the Therapy Specialty Lead / Therapy Clinical Team Leader to develop links between the specialist Therapy team and relevant CMGs and Corporate Directorates within UHL. Ensure the training and development of staff within the Therapy Specialty Team.
