The Musculoskeletal Therapy Team at Florence Nightingale Hospital, Derby, is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Therapy Assistant to join their team.
The post holder will support the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Teams in assessing and treating patients in the rehabilitation department, aiming to maximize independence and physical function. The role also involves working across sites at the Royal Derby Hospital to support hydrotherapy patients.
We are looking for a motivated, organized Therapy Assistant to support outpatient patient care. Flexibility, initiative, and awareness of team needs are essential. Proven teamwork skills and the ability to work independently are required. A passion for helping patients recover and motivating them is key.
Basic IT skills are desirable for administrative tasks. Recent experience in a care setting, good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to motivate patients with physical needs are also desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming patients in the MSK Therapy department and hydrotherapy at RDH.
- Supporting qualified OTs and PTs with treatment, delegated tasks, group sessions, documentation, equipment checks, and maintenance.
- Supporting hydrotherapy patients with health checks, mobility, and dressing.
- Organizing clinic lists, notes, recording outcomes, and managing equipment and stock.
