Overview

The majority of your role will be clinical, and you will be a clinical lead on the ward supporting and mentoring junior members of the team with your experience and knowledge. The job will also entail all aspects of people/staff management, for example, ensuring staff wellbeing, completing appraisals, dealing with conflict and more. You will be expected to complete audits, rosters, reports, attend meetings and liaise with all members of the MDT as well as many other tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership on the ward and mentor junior team members.
  • Perform all aspects of people/staff management including staff wellbeing, appraisals, conflict resolution, and related duties.
  • Complete audits, rosters, reports, attend meetings, and liaise with all members of the MDT.
  • Support weekend, bank holiday, and night shifts to provide unit bleep cover.
  • Engage in service improvement or innovation initiatives.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-operative care and complex discharge planning for orthopaedic trauma patients as applicable.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Band 6 level role; demonstrable experience within Trauma and Orthopaedics, ideally with orthopaedic trauma patients.
  • Experience with pre- and post-operative care, patient assessment, and complex discharge planning.
  • Evidence of service improvement or innovation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to promote high quality care and support junior staff on the ward.
  • Full support from the management team and peers to succeed in the role.
