The Deputy Director – Procurement & Supplies will provide leadership and direction to ensure University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust achieves optimum value for money from the procurement of goods and services required to enable the delivery of high-quality patient care. This will require an exceptional customer focus, including close working with stakeholders across the Trust and with current and prospective suppliers as well as other NHS partners across the region. The postholder will ensure the Trust’s continuing compliance with procurement legislation and guidance.

The Deputy Director – Procurement & Supplies Will

  • contribute to the delivery of the Trust’s strategy and annual priorities, in particular in relation to value and sustainability.
  • lead the commercial procurement and supply chain function for the Trust.
  • support the development of the procurement strategy that encompasses the Trust’s wholly owned subsidiary.
  • provide professional leadership and advice ensuring adherence and alignment to the Trust’s policies and procedures and procurement law.
  • represent the Trust locally, regionally and nationally to help derive forward procurement and supply chain initiatives through partnership.
  • facilitate a continuous quality improvement approach within the department, ensuring our procedures and systems deliver an effective, high quality and integrated service.
