Main duties of the job
- Efficiently manage the electronic appointment diary and coordinate all scheduling for consultations.
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support, including word processing, filing, audio-typing, photocopying, and composing sensitive letters.
- Handle complex and varied queries from patients, clinicians, and external parties, offering excellent customer service.
- Be a key point of contact for patients, answering inquiries in person, via email, and over the phone.
- Communicate difficult, sensitive, and confidential information with professionalism and tact, especially when speaking with anxious or distressed patients and their families.
- Work closely with Consultants and medical staff, ensuring they have the information and responses they need for patient care and ongoing treatment
Working for our organisation
UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporary or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service‑specific questions at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not bereimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
