Trauma and Orthopaedics are looking for a full time enthusiastic Operational Manager to join the team to help manage the cross site directorate. This role is crucial to the operational running of the Directorate and as such the successful candidate will need to have a solid understanding of the NHS and some experience of managing people and pathways to ensure we meet key access targets. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can balance conflicting priorities and undertake project work across the Directorate. Having experience in managing administration staff, budgets and outpatient targets will be beneficial. As a key part of the management team, you will be responsible for providing leadership across the Directorate and deputising for the Service Manager when required. In return you will be supported to develop your skills and gain valuable senior management experience.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital, cross site working will be required.

Main duties of the job: The post holder will be a key member of the Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate Management Team, focussing on clinic management and RTT pathway, invested in managing the staffing capacity against the workforce demand, providing support to the service in line with the NHS plan and the Trust’s Service Improvement Agenda; and supporting achievement of key performance indicators within the Care Group.

  • Essential criteria: Knowledge of range of computerised software, Managerial knowledge, Knowledge of project monitoring, Knowledge of access policies and procedures.
  • Desirable criteria: A high level understanding of local IT systems including EPR and eCaMIS.

    • Essential criteria: Degree Level Application or equivalent experience.
    • Desirable criteria: Specialist knowledge across range of procedures, underpinned by theory.
