The predicted salary is between 72000 - 108000 £ per year.
This appointment is for a Rehabilitation Medicine Consultant who can deliver high quality care along the MDT for this pathway. This will include acute and rehabilitation care for neurology and ABI patients and outpatient / follow-up clinics across the county. This is a permanent post working less than full time with potential negotiations on WTE (Maximum of 8PAs). The post holder should be an enthusiastic, effective team player with a flexible approach who can embrace new ways of working and will be expected to take an active role in the running of the neuro rehab unit.
Main duties of the job
- The appointee will be expected to play a full role in the delivery of the neuro rehab unit.
- All consultants are required to have a job plan setting out their main duties and responsibilities including a work programme specifying their weekly timetable.
- Management of inpatients on the rehab unit and outliers as appropriate.
- Attend and participate in neuro rehab outpatient clinics.
- Clinical administration, included in the sessional time allocation.
- Other duties as may be identified to meet the needs of the service.
- Cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
- Support in-patient care in conjunction with departmental colleagues.
- Teaching duties as required and take an active part in the Postgraduate Medical Education programme and in the teaching of junior medical trainees.

- Experience of supervision of postgraduate trainees.
Interpersonal Essential criteria
- Approachable manner and flexible attitude, and an ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team.
- Caring attitude to patients including contributing to improving patient’s experience and involving patients in decisions about their care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, nurses, and other agencies.
