UHD Bournemouth site are looking to recruit a lead student link radiographer to support students on placements from across 3 different Universities. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic radiographer who takes pride in their work, is committed to excellent patient care, and has a passion for supporting learners in practice.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital

Interview Date: TBC

Main duties of the job:

  • The role of a Senior radiographer is to lead by example, champion and provide support for the radiography team.
  • Inclusive of the day-to-day tasks of working in the radiography team, leadership in coordinating the department, and participating in the out of hours and on call service within the emergency department.
  • The post will involve rotating through all areas of General x-ray, fluoroscopy and theatres.

Working for our organisation, UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview. If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.

Qualification:

  • Essential criteria: BSc or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography, Current HCPC Registration
  • Desirable criteria: Post Graduate qualification

Experience:

  • Essential criteria: Post graduate experience essential, CPD Experience post qualification, Student link experience

Skills:

  • Essential criteria: High standard of Radiographic skills, Ability to work as part of a team and independently, Ability to prioritise and organise demands for radiology services
  • Desirable criteria: Leadership experience

Knowledge:

  • Essential criteria: Evidence of up to date knowledge of radiological procedures and protocols, Demonstrate a sound understanding of radiation protection methods and legislation for patients and staff, Excellent knowledge of anatomy, Knowledge of infection control policies, Demonstrate commitment to CPD
  • Desirable criteria: Attendance and participation in MDT meetings
