Overview

The purpose of the violence reduction officer role is to contribute significantly to creating a safer environment within UHBW with their efforts focused on the prevention, support, and advocacy for colleagues impacted by violence.

They are to ensure that all investigations into incidents of violence are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner and to work in partnership with the police to aid investigation into crimes committed against UHBW employees. This will include sensitive and emotive topics including crimes against the person.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent professional advice to all levels of management and employees within the Trust to assist with legislative compliance and support regarding internal sanctions.
  • Thoroughly investigate incidents of violence and aggression to identify root causes and share learning.
  • Support victim-centered approaches and contribute to safeguarding and welfare of colleagues impacted by violence.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including the police, to aid investigation into crimes against UHBW staff while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.
