  • From a clinical, educational and professional perspective, guide and direct nursing staff to ensure each individual’s full potential is reached.

  • Provide clinical skills, educational support and direction to new staff and learners to enable the on-going delivery of high quality care to the children and their families.

  • Through working with new staff directly link theory to practice within the clinical setting, and ensure accurate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care delivery.

  • Act as a knowledge resource for members of the multidisciplinary team on a day to day basis.

  • Support others in developing and updating clinical guidelines for multidisciplinary use.

  • Act as a role model clinically by ensuring own practice is of a high standard.

  • Take a leading role in introducing and supporting nursing developments within the department, together with enhancing evidence based practice.

  • The successful candidate will :

  • Be supported in leading a team of nursing staff to develop both personally and professionally.

  • Have evidence of effective leadership, clinical credibility and have experience of working at a Band 5 level or above.
