Band 6 MRI Specialist Radiographer at UHB QEH site – permanent full-time (37.5 hours) posts X 2.
Successful candidates will be trained to provide highly skilled and specialised MRI imaging for all patients. You will contribute to the development, growth, and success of the facility as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The post-holder will ensure that a gold standard service is delivered to all stakeholders through ongoing engagement with continued professional development (CPD). You are encouraged to participate in audits and reflective practice CPD.
Duties include scanning both inpatients and outpatients of all body areas and participating in out-of-hours rota including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. The service operates an extended working day with some flexibility in shift patterns.
You must be a qualified radiographer with at least 2 years of post-graduate experience and hold current HCPC registration. Previous MRI experience is highly desirable.

The Imaging Directorate provides 24/7 service delivery with a proven track record of service re-design and transformation. Over £3 million has been invested to upgrade and modernise equipment across four hospital sites.
The MRI Department at QEH has 5 Siemens and 1 GE scanner, including 1.5T and 3T systems. Recently, a new 3T Siemens high-specification scanner was installed, offering advanced Neuro/MSK scanning. A project is underway to install a 1.5T Siemens Sola within the Radiotherapy unit to improve patient pathway efficiency.
