The digital team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) have an opportunity for an assistant test analyst to join and work with us on the testing and implementation of innovative clinical systems. You will support with software testing of upgrades for a number of electronic patient record systems, ensuring the Trust's digital tools are clinically safe and meet the requirements of our staff and patients.

Responsibilities Will Include:
- Reviewing and executing test scripts
- Reporting and tracking of defects
- Supporting stakeholders with user acceptance testing
Experience And Skills Required:
- Experience of software testing
- Knowledge and understanding of test methodologies
- Experience with databases and SQL
- Understanding of hospital processes and systems
The team's core hours are between 8.00 and 18.00 Monday through Friday, but flexibility will be required depending on service needs. UHS supports agile and remote working, but regular attendance at Southampton General Hospital will be required in this role.

- Essential criteria: NVQ4 in Information Technology or relevant equivalent experience
- Desirable criteria: ISTQB foundation or intermediate certificate in software testing.
Knowledge and experience
- Essential criteria: Experience of software testing in a highly complex technical environment
- Knowledge and expertise of test methodologies and relevant industry standards
- Knowledge and expertise in test tools e.g. Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server or Jira
- Experience executing basic SQL queries
- Experience of server operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix/Linux
- Desirable criteria: Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of relevant NHS clinical and business processes
- Working knowledge of Prince 2
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of Oracle Databases
