In the Clinical Services of University Hospital Sharjah, the role requires a clinician with at least three years of post‑internship experience. The Doctor must hold a valid evaluation/License and meet international standards for service delivery and accreditation.

Summary of Main Duties:

  • Admit patients under consultant supervision, ensuring full admission documentation.
  • Initiate appropriate investigations, order treatments and medications.
  • Liaise with non‑clinical and clinical staff.
  • Conduct ward rounds daily, and participate in consultant/senior staff rounds.
  • Maintain daily inpatient progress records and attend specified clinics.
  • Follow up patients both inpatient and outpatient; adjust treatment based on investigation results.
  • Prepare patients for procedures or surgery when applicable; obtain informed consent.
  • Perform invasive procedures/surgery under consultant supervision and in line with privileges.
  • Answer calls and see patients from ED and specialty clinics; receive consultation requests.
  • Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays, and possibly in‑house on‑call.
  • Maintain and complete timely medical records for all patients.
  • Participate in medical staff conferences, meetings, and hospital committees as requested.
  • Carry out duties detailed in any department‑specific job description or statement of roles and responsibilities.
  • Assume additional duties assigned by the consultant or department chief.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to meet JCI & regulatory requirements.
  • Implement clinical pathways or guidelines where applicable.

Position Requirements / Qualifications Required:

  • American Specialty Board or equivalent, in accordance with MOH requirements.
  • Three years of experience following board certification in an active, acute‑care accredited institution or equivalent.
  • UAE Ministry of Health License.

Desirable:

  • BLS Certificate
  • ACLS Certificate
