UCA is seeking a Research Manager to lead the operational delivery of its Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation (RKEI) strategy, with key responsibility for our REF 2029 submission and the management of internal and external RKE funding. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic arts-specialist university with an expanding portfolio of research, KE and impact activity delivered in collaboration with academic, industry and civic partners.
You will join us at a key point in our strategic development towards 2029 and beyond. You will be a motivated and solutions-focussed individual, with a strong understanding of the UK's policy and funding landscape for research and innovation, a commitment to research and knowledge exchange excellence and an inclusive approach to research management.
With sound knowledge of research governance, funding development and researcher support, you will work with our community of researchers to enhance the success and ambition of their research funding applications. You will bring an evidence-based approach to research management, implementing and streamlining processes and informing strategic decision-making.
You will join a highly skilled and enthusiastic team who work collaboratively with our academic schools and research centres. As an arts-specialist provider with a track record for practice-research excellence, significant interdisciplinary research and a burgeoning culture of knowledge exchange, UCA offers a unique opportunity for career development across all aspects of research and KE management.
The Research Manager will be based at our Farnham campus, where the RKEI office is located, with some requirement to visit other campuses for in person meetings, as well as opportunities for hybrid working.
