The role will be based at the Farnham campus, just outside Guildford, and will report directly to the Programme Director for Animation.
As Lecturer in Animation (CGI), you will have proven knowledge and experience of contemporary 3D animation workflows, with particular expertise in Autodesk Maya and/or Blender. You will be confident teaching modelling, rigging, character animation, lighting, rendering and scene construction, while supporting students in developing an understanding of professional production pipelines and collaborative studio practice. Experience of Unreal Engine, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, Houdini, motion capture, virtual production or other specialist CGI technologies would be advantageous. You will play a key role in delivering CGI animation skills to students across undergraduate provision, supporting learners from Foundation through to Level 6. UCA is seeking to recruit a dynamic and innovative educator with specialist expertise in CGI animation. We are looking for a candidate who will ideally have professional experience within the animation industry together with experience of teaching in higher education, including curriculum delivery aligned with contemporary creative practice. You will have a good honours degree, ideally supported by a postgraduate qualification, together with significant professional experience and an up-to-date understanding of contemporary developments in CGI animation and the wider creative industries.
