The Campus Life Officer is part of the Campus Life team, which is responsible for all matters related to student administration, enquiry and advice services. The team is part of the Student Life department, which serves to provide a comprehensive and effective service across the student journey, enabling individuals to realise their potential.
The post holder will focus on delivering high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG) to students on a wide range of issues affecting student life, supporting them throughout their university journey. The role provides specialist advice and support in areas including financial wellbeing, hardship funding, safeguarding, student conduct and misconduct, and concerns relating to bullying, harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct. Working with a diverse caseload, the post holder will manage welfare and misconduct cases, respond to concerns raised through the University's Report + Support platform, undertake risk assessments, coordinate support plans, administer financial support schemes, and act as a key point of contact for student enquiries. Through proactive intervention, advice and collaborative working, the role contributes to student engagement, retention and success while helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive university community.
We are seeking a candidate educated to NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent) with experience in advice, guidance, welfare support or casework, ideally within higher education or student services. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, and experience of managing sensitive information and maintaining accurate records using case management systems.
