Job Purpose
Provide front of house receptionist duties and day‑to‑day support for the senior management team. Create a welcoming and professional impression at all times, ensuring that all stakeholders are greeted and expectations are exceeded.

Responsibilities

  • General
    Be cheerful with an outgoing personality and commitment to highest standards of customer service. Act as duty manager/front of house receptionist when required; shifts include early mornings, evenings and weekends. Conduct guided tours of the club when needed. Support members and staff events as appropriate. IT literate and willing to receive training. Engage collaboratively with a team in various aspects of the school environment. Manage school sports kit ordering, stock counting and preparation for collection. Assist the Membership & Admin Manager with smooth running of the membership department. Help the management team with daily, weekly and monthly tasks when required.
  • Reception
    Handle all customers and visitors to UCS Active; greet stakeholders and guests. Register all members and visitors entering UCS Active. Answer telephone enquiries and emails professionally. Assist in promotion of new campaigns and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Administration
    Organise day‑to‑day reception operations and staff rotas. Administer membership database, including data entry, card administration, cancellations, suspensions, renewal letters, arrear management and ad‑hoc reports. Compile confidential reports and records. Complete ad‑hoc tasks supporting Memberships and Admin manager/senior management team.
  • Customer Care
    Develop and maintain highest standards of customer care across responsibilities. Ensure after‑sales care through positive communication and regular member feedback.

Requirements
Enhanced DBS check required before commencement; recruitment checks will be conducted by UCS and through previous employer references. This position is within a school working with children under 18.
