In this role you lead the Student Lifecycle team to manage student records across enrolment, progression, awards and results publication, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will partner with Schools, Faculties and colleagues to implement changes and drive a consistent, data-driven approach to record-keeping. You will oversee training, workstreams and continuous improvement while maintaining data quality in Portico/SITS. This hybrid role blends operational leadership with deep lifecycle expertise to enhance the student experience.

Responsibilities
- Oversee enrolment, module selection, assessment marks, progression, awards and publication of results processes
- Provide expert guidance on student record-keeping and impact of regulatory/process changes on Portico and the lifecycle
- Lead the wider record-keeping function and multi-team collaboration across UCL
- Manage and develop a team of Senior Administrative Staff and Student Lifecycle Officers
- Lead workstreams, deliver training and contribute to a community of practice focused on record creation/maintenance
- Ensure data quality and support system development, including testing of Portico/SITS upgrades
- Develop and analyse reports, identify data integrity issues and implement corresponding processes
- Influence stakeholders and manage relationships with Schools, Faculties and professional services
- Support performance, development and continuous improvement within the team
- Coordinate testing of new functionality and scheduled upgrades to student information systems
Key requirements
- Substantial experience in a Higher Education student records or administration environment
- Expert knowledge of the student lifecycle and interdependencies of processes
- Strong experience with SITS or an equivalent student information system
- Detailed understanding of student record data configuration and management in a large, multi-faculty university
- Proven people management experience with ability to lead, develop and motivate a team
- Ability to influence colleagues and stakeholders beyond immediate area
- Experience leading service improvements from scoping to implementation
- Comfort with facilitating workshops and training; clear communication of complex information
- Strong analytical and organisational skills; able to work with large datasets and support data-driven decisions
- Practical problem-solver with attention to detail and high-quality, student-focused service
