The Safety Coordinator will play an important role within UCL Safety Services, supporting the delivery of effective health and safety governance across a large and complex organisation. Working closely with the Head of Safety Governance and Risk and a network of safety specialists, you will help ensure that robust systems, processes and reporting are in place to support compliance and continuous improvement.
This is a varied and operational role, combining coordination, data analysis and stakeholder engagement. You will support the planning and delivery of audit and inspection programmes, maintain key safety documentation and legal registers, and contribute to the development of guidance and policies. The role will also involve producing and analysing safety performance data, using tools such as Power BI and Tableau to provide insight and support decision-making.
You will act as a key point of contact for a range of safety processes and systems, ensuring that information is accurate, up to date and accessible. Alongside this, you will support meetings, training activity and wider governance arrangements, helping to embed a consistent and proactive approach to safety across UCL.

You will bring experience of working in a large and complex organisation, with a strong understanding of health and safety processes and coordination. You will have experience in a similar role, with the ability to support audit programmes, manage data and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
You will have strong analytical skills, with experience of working with data, interpreting metrics and producing clear and meaningful reports. You will be comfortable using tools such as Excel and Power BI, and confident in using data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Communication and interpersonal skills will be key. You will be able to take complex or technical information and present it clearly to a range of audiences, building effective working relationships across departments and with stakeholders at all levels. You will also be confident producing clear written materials, including reports, policies and meeting papers.
You will be well organised, able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and collaborative approach will be essential, alongside a genuine interest in improving health and safety practices and contributing to a positive and compliant working environment across UCL.
