With that scale comes an exciting and diverse range of commercial, research, education and innovation opportunities. We're looking for a Contracts Manager (Revenue Generating) to join UCL's Legal Services team and provide practical contracting support to help colleagues progress those opportunities effectively. As the team develops, the shape of the role and the mix of work are likely to evolve, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable working in a developing service, helping to shape processes and adapting as priorities change.
As Contracts Manager (Revenue Generating), you'll be the first point of contact for a portfolio of routine and moderately complex income-generating contracts, working closely with colleagues across Legal Services, Finance, Commercial & Procurement, Research & Innovation, faculties, departments and professional services. Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including consultancy, research and collaboration agreements, statements of work and services contracts, SaaS/software arrangements, and IP licences.
- Provide practical, commercially focused contract guidance that helps colleagues progress opportunities while protecting UCL's legal, financial, regulatory and reputational interests.
- Apply UCL's templates, playbooks and standard positions, identifying deviations and escalating novel, complex or higher-risk issues to Legal Counsel.
- Work collaboratively with specialist teams on areas including IP, data protection, tax, insurance, procurement and commercialisation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract processes, templates, guidance and contract management systems.
This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of a globally recognised institution, supporting innovative, revenue-generating activity across education, research, enterprise and commercial partnerships β and helping shape a newly established contracting function as it develops.

You'll understand key contractual issues such as IP, confidentiality, liability, indemnities, warranties, data protection, performance and governing law, and be confident identifying commercial risks and proposing pragmatic solutions. Experience involving software, consultancy, research, services, data protection, IP or commercial collaborations will be particularly valuable.
