About us

Student and Registry Services is one of the larger Professional Services divisions at UCL, providing essential services to UCL’s 50,000 students, 160,000 applicants and for supporting academic departments and administrative staff in delivering a high-quality student experience.

UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Services (SSWS) provides information, advice and welfare support for all registered students, including delivery of related student events.

The UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Team (Disability, Mental Health & Neurodiversity Support Services) is responsible for the delivery of advice and support aimed to enable students who identify as disabled thrive and succeed at UCL.

About the role

As a Student Support and Wellbeing Administrator and Adviser, you will provide essential administrative and advisory support across disability, mental health and wellbeing services. You will help manage a high volume of enquiries received by email and telephone, responding to students’ needs by providing clear, supportive information and signposting them to the appropriate teams and services where necessary.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong administrative skills with a genuine commitment to student-centred support. You will provide information and guidance on reasonable adjustments at UCL, offering constructive and empathetic advice to help students understand and implement the support available to them. This will include delivering same-day appointments to respond to students’ needs in a timely and accessible way.

Through your work, you will play an important role in ensuring reasonable adjustments are effectively implemented, helping to remove barriers to teaching and learning and enabling students to engage fully with their studies and achieve their potential.

This role is offered on a full-time basis with currently a minimum of 2-days per week at our Bloomsbury campus (subject to change).

This role does not meet the requirements for a Skilled Worker visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require a right to work in the UK.

If you have any queries about the role, please contact Kleo Kourmpi at: kleoniki.kourmpi@ucl.ac.uk

Job Ref: B01-05783

Closing Date: 23-10-2026 – 23:59 (UK time)

About you

You will have experience of working in an administrative role and an understanding of how to identify and remove barriers for disabled people. You will have knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and an appreciation of its relevance within a public sector environment, alongside an understanding of confidentiality and GDPR, particularly when handling sensitive student information. Further training will be provided to support you in the role.

You will take a practical, solution-focused approach to supporting individuals, identifying appropriate adjustments and exploring ways to improve accessibility, whether through removing physical barriers or recommending assistive technology. You will be a confident problem-solver, able to balance an understanding of the wider barriers affecting disabled students with the provision of tailored, individual support.

An interest in, or understanding of, the complexities of the medical and social models of disability would be an advantage. Current or previous membership of the National Association of Disability Practitioners (NADP) is desirable but not essential.
