Overview
In this role you will translate strategic priorities into practical programme operations within UCL Grand Challenges. You’ll coordinate governance, finance, risk, data, and reporting while driving continuous improvement and streamlined processes. You will support the grant management system and produce management information, partnering with diverse teams across the university. The position offers the chance to shape cross-disciplinary initiatives and contribute to impactful research programmes.

Responsibilities
- Plan and govern programme activities across Grand Challenges
- Monitor budgets, funding, and expenditure; manage financial tracking
- Lead risk management and develop SOPs
- Oversee data, reporting, and management information (Power BI)
- Support and optimise the Flexi-Grant grant management system
- Develop processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Line-manage the Programme Administrator and coordinate with stakeholders across UCL
- Produce clear guidance, reports, and training materials for varied audiences
- Collaborate with cross-department teams to translate strategy into operations
Key requirements
- Experience designing processes and delivering projects/funding schemes in higher education or a similarly complex organisation
- Strong organisational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience implementing or improving technology systems and processes
- Proficiency in data and digital tools (Power BI) and workflow/grant management systems such as Asana and Flexi-Grant
- Financial acumen with budget monitoring, forecasting and expenditure tracking
- Excellent communication and ability to produce guidance, reports and training materials
- Ability to work independently and build relationships across diverse stakeholders
