Overview
In this Philanthropy Manager role within the Health team, you will cultivate and solicit six-figure gifts to support UCL’s health faculties. You’ll manage a UK-focused portfolio, collaborating with clinicians, academics, and senior colleagues to drive impactful health research funding. You’ll craft tailored cultivation plans, lead donor meetings, and help shape proposals and stewardship with cross-functional teams. This is a mission-driven opportunity to accelerate health outcomes through philanthropic partnerships.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of prospects capable of six-figure gifts and above
- Generate in-year income toward personal and team targets and KPIs
- Create tailored cultivation and solicitation plans with involvement from clinicians and academics
- Lead donor asks and coordinate asks for colleagues when effective
- Prepare briefing materials for senior leaders and researchers for donor meetings
- Foster strong partnerships with academics, clinical staff and health priorities
- Collaborate with Donor Experience and Philanthropy Writing teams on proposals, stewardship and events
- Maintain timely records in the donor database and share fundraising best practices
- Travel within London and the UK and participate in occasional events outside core hours
- Promote Ways of Working, champion equity, diversity and inclusion, and support Sustainability Strategy
Key requirements
- Fundraising or income-generating experience with high-value strategic partnerships
- Proven track record managing a diverse, high-value donor portfolio with complex relationships
- Experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including senior figures
- Proven ability to work in a results-driven environment with measurable income targets
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proven influencing and negotiating abilities
- Strategic thinking across short to long term with problem-solving capabilities
