The UCL School of Management is home to UCL’s business and management research and education programmes. The School has forged a reputation for world-leading research and teaching in the areas of innovation management, the creation and growth of technology-intensive organisations, business analytics, and entrepreneurship. About the role
The UCL School of Management is recruiting a full-time Lecturer (Teaching) focused on technology, creativity, innovation, or design. The role involves contributing to a new undergraduate programme in Technology and Innovation, aimed at developing graduates who can tackle complex real-world challenges using creative and technological approaches.
The successful candidate will have experience fostering creativity, supporting collaborative problem-solving, and delivering innovative, applied teaching. They should be comfortable working across disciplines and combining technological expertise with design, innovation, or entrepreneurship. Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching and assessing modules
- Supervising student projects and dissertations
- Supporting students through tutoring
- Contributing to curriculum development and wider school activities
Experience with experiential or project-based learning and industry engagement is highly valued. Overall, the role suits an educator with strong teaching skills, a commitment to pedagogical innovation, and the ability to connect academic work with industry and real-world practice.

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of both theory and practice within a discipline related to technology, innovation, design, or a closely aligned field. They will have experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and hold a relevant PhD or Doctorate. The role requires the ability to design and deliver interactive, experiential, and inclusive learning activities, alongside a proven ability to teach and engage students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Candidates should be able to maintain strong student evaluations through reflective teaching practice, achieving a minimum score of 4 out of 5 (or equivalent). An excellent command of English is essential, as are outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload effectively.
