We are at the forefront of global archaeology, archaeological science, conservation, and heritage studies.To find out more about the Institute of Archaeology, visit our webpage at UCL Institute of Archaeology.About the roleWe are seeking an innovative archaeologist to appoint as a full time (36.5 hours per week) Lecturer (Teaching) available from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.We are looking for applicants with research expertise in the European Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age and/or Iron Age, and in leading-edge methods associated with aDNA and/or palaeoecology. Applicants should also be able to contribute to teaching in regional survey courses on prehistory and the coordination of core teaching in introductory archaeology. Some contribution to the Institute’s active UK field training programmes (either in the field or post-excavation) will also be expected.The successful candidate will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as supervise Masters’ and Undergraduate dissertations, and undertake some administrative duties.About youThe successful candidate will have a PhD in Archaeology (relevant to some aspect of European Prehistory) and experience of research-led teaching in Archaeology.
