Overview
As a Lecturer or Associate Professor, you will advance research at the intersection of philosophy, computer science and AI, and contribute to teaching two joint degrees with Computer Science. You will develop and strengthen research links between the departments, shaping the philosophical foundations of computing and AI and expanding methodological approaches. You will engage with cognitive science, ML foundations, and the ethical and social dimensions of AI, while complementing the department’s strengths in logic and the philosophy of mathematics. Responsibilities
- Advance research in philosophy of computer science and/or artificial intelligence
- Teach and contribute to two joint degrees with Computer Science
- Develop and strengthen research connections between Philosophy and Computer Science
- Engage with interdisciplinary topics at the interface of philosophy and computing (e.g., cognitive science, ML foundations, AI ethics)
- Contribute to departmental teaching, program development, and wider research community
- Align with department strengths in logic and philosophy of mathematics
