Since our founding, we have always done things differently. Our diverse and global community of world-class academics, staff, students and alumni have the freedom and courage to challenge, question and think differently. We continuously break boundaries and develop solutions to real world problems. In 2020, we closed one of the most successful fundraising campaigns in the UK’s higher education sector, which raised £624M and galvanised our community. We have undertaken a strategic review of our programmes and are investing significantly in our team to deliver on the roadmap ahead. We have created 2 new roles to continue leading key alumni engagement initiatives at UCL. This is an incredibly exciting time as we plan for UCL’s biggest ever fundraising and engagement campaign, launching in our bicentenary year, 2026.

In addition to a mature Regions team, we have created two further pillars – one to build stronger bridges across our Faculties and the other to develop and deliver a cohesive plan of engagement Programmes & Products for our alumni community. We are now looking for two inspiring leaders to motivate newly formed teams of talented, creative and inspiring alumni engagement professionals who keep our 470,000+ alumni in 190 countries engaged and active within the global community.

You will both be responsible for the design and delivery of gold-standard alumni engagement programmes and experiences, thinking through how UCL shows up for our alumni, and how alumni can show up for UCL. As the Head of Alumni & Supporter Relations (Faculties), you will lead a dynamic, burgeoning team that collaborates across UCL’s faculties to design, deliver, and grow innovative programmes that celebrate and showcase the university’s world-leading research and teaching.

You will develop an insights-led strategy, and the tracking and metrics to review progress and further build the offering, working closely with your peers leading the Regions and Programme & Products teams. This role requires a highly collaborative community engagement specialist, with Advancement experience and a track record of working with and getting the best out of advocates and key stakeholders. It will take well-developed relationship building skills to quickly gain the trust of our academic leads, and build a programme unique to UCL.

The strength you bring in building relationships, and your highly developed interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit will underpin your success. There are opportunities to build new programmes and initiatives, and it will be important that you are energised by the idea of exploring and developing “the new” and the opportunity to establish a best-in-class alumni engagement programme.

We are a team of passionate individuals who work together to achieve remarkable things with a global impact. Our people really are our greatest asset and we invest in them so that they can fulfil their potential. Equity, diversity and inclusion is important to us. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to give their best in a place where their unique experiences, perspectives and skills are seen as valuable assets. We also prioritise work-life balance and offer agile working and flexibility around working hours. We are happy to receive part-time applications for all of our job opportunities, and can consider a 0.8FTE working pattern for this role. And we particularly welcome applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce.
